A HHO generator is relatively easy to install and does
not require you to have a lot of knowledge of cars to
begin. A little bit of experience working on cars is a
definite advantage here, but you can install a HHO
generator with no automotive background at all. A HHO
generator, understandably enough, generates HHO - also
known as Brown gas. This gas, once mixed with gasoline
creates a mixture which powers your engine.
While it is easy to install a HHO generator into your
car, that does not mean that you can slack off or not
exercise the usual due diligence you would with any other
sort of auto work. HHO does explode, but does so only when
in actual contact with gasoline - so be careful and don't
be afraid to ask questions. When you are dealing with
anything technical, it is best to get advice from
professionals if you need it.
You should always test your HHO generator before
installing it. A generator which has not been tested may of
course not work, which will require you to uninstall it and
do everything over again. When you are ready to install,
here are some things to keep in mind.
HHO gas is released into the air intake sensors once
generated. The wires here in this region could potentially
cause a flashback - if the wires are hot, an explosion
could occur. To prevent this, ensure that you car has not
been used for a few hours before installing your HHO
generator, The unit should be placed between the throttle
body and the air intake sensor, since this is one of the
coolest areas in the engine. Don't make the mistake if
assuming you know it all - it never hurts (and often helps)
to ask.
It is best to use a fuse for the HHO unit itself in
order to prevent short circuits in or near the HHO
generator. The wiring will vary here depending on the make
and model of car. Different cars also have different
requirements for the amount of HHO, so a flashback arrestor
mechanism on your HHO generator would be an excellent idea
indeed. These mechanisms can prevent most flashbacks and
explosions.
Last, make sure that your HHO generator is not running
while the vehicle is off - you don't want an accumulation
of HHO in the hood or a leakage of HHO.
